Treating Work-Related Issues

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. • 6.0 C.E. Hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Our clients spend up to 80% of their waking hours at work. Yet, most of us as therapists—having been in private practice throughout our careers—have little or no experience with the corporate world. This lack of corporate experience greatly affects the degree to which we can be empathic and helpful when clients present with work-related issues. This may lead us to misdiagnose the source of symptoms such as apathy, anxiety, depression, and physical illness. Consequently, we may mistreat, resulting in an exacerbation of the clients' problems at work. This course will provide therapists with the perspective they need to be more effective with their clients' work-related problems. With plenty of illustrative case material, participants will learn the unique challenges and strategies needed to help clients adapt to the corporate world.
