Emotional Intelligence
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. • 6.0 C.E. Hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Emotional intelligence (EI) is increasingly being recognized as a significant element of human aptitude, and central to healthy decision-making and self care-taking actions. Our emotional intelligence assists us to choose healthy decisions and select actions based on meeting our emotional needs while respecting the needs of others. Emotional intelligence involves the capacity to identify and understand one's own emotional state, as well as the emotional experiences of others. It is through an emotionally intelligent sense of oneself that we are able to make more personally beneficial, behavioral decisions. In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of EI, learn to identify EI behaviors in oneself and others, and learn how to increase EI in oneself and others.

His emotional intelligence workshop integrates his extensive background in humanistic psychology, cognitive therapy, emotional process, empathy training, and experiential learning with the theoretical and applied concepts of Emotional Intelligence. His passion for teaching, multi-media presentations, and participant ratings earned him Psycho-Legal Associates’ Instructor of the Year award in 1999.

Editor's Note: Dr. Sultanoff is the teachers' teacher. When a new instructor is hired, I require him/her to attend one of Dr. Sultanoff's courses in order to experience an ideal teaching situation. Dr. Sultanoff sweats the small stuff to enhance participant's experience and is truly a PowerPoint presentation virtuoso. -Michael P. Dennis, M.A. (Psy.D. Candidate)
