Domestic Violence : Assessment & Treatment
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. • 7.0 C.E. Hours

IMPORTANT: Last Chance! This course will not be offered again in 2005 since it is a one-time requirement that most licensees completed in 2003 and 2004, and must be completed prior to your renewal in 2005.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

According to the Attorney General’s Office, each year nearly six percent of adult women experience some form of physical violence perpetrated by their intimate partner. In fact, one-third of all women murdered in the U.S. are killed by a domestic partner. Although women are most often the victims of domestic violence, incidents of domestic violence are increasing against men and in gay and lesbian relationships. This intermediate course examines the latest research, detection, and intervention strategies for working with victims and perpetrators of abuse in intimate relationships. The course features numerous case examples and is loaded with practical clinical intervention tips, tools, and techniques.
