COURSE DESCRIPTION

Therapists are at risk, and the risk is increasing. Well-meaning practitioners used to believe that if they were adhering to the ethical codes, and doing their best, they didn't have to worry about being sued or brought before licensing boards. But, in today's litigious climate they are worried, and rightfully so. Their concern surfaces at the same time that the profession is learning better ways to help particularly troubled patients who have often been badly abused and traumatized. This course can help you deal with advanced clinical issues from a psychodynamic perspective.

This course satisfies the California requirement that all licensed psychologists complete a law and ethics course each licensing cycle.

• This course satisfies the new requirement that all California-licensed MFTs and LCSWs complete six or more hours of continuing education in laws and ethics each licensing cycle beginning with renewals on/after January 1, 2004.
