2. After the divorce, Marilyn speaks with Thelma Ritter in a bar:
Ritter: “Well, you're free!”
Marilyn: “The trouble is, I always end up where I started...Never had anybody
much — here I am.”
Ritter: “Well you had your mother didn't you?”
Marilyn: “How do you have somebody who disappears all the time? They both weren't there. She'd go on vacation for 3 months...and you know how long 3 months is to a kid.”
From this dialogue, what is a probable consequence one could conjecture in regard to Marilyn's character and world perspective?
